Southwest Zone Hockey Association

Welcome to TeamLinkt

SWZ has moved from TeamSnap to TeamLinkt for schedules, availability, messages and team chat.

SWZ has moved from TeamSnap to TeamLinkt for schedules, availability, messages and team chat. TeamSnap is done for SWZ. Keep it only if you use it for another sport or club.

  • No ads. SWZ pays for an ad free TeamLinkt, so families won't see ads on SWZ teams.
  • New account. Your TeamSnap account doesn't carry over, so you'll set up a TeamLinkt account.
  • One app for all your kids. Players on more than one team all show up in the same app.

Coming from TeamSnap?

Almost everything you used in TeamSnap is in TeamLinkt, sometimes under a different name.

  • Schedule: games, practices and events, each set as a Game, Practice or other type.
  • Availability: blue check (in), red X (out), grey question mark (unsure). Was Coming, Maybe, No.
  • Phone calendar: Events tab, then Subscribe to Calendar.
  • Team emails and messages: push and email reminders, plus team chat.
  • Messages tab: now Chat, with an All Team Members chat and group chats.
  • Family members (grandparents): add them as a Fan. They see games only.
  • Second parent: invite them to your TeamLinkt Family, and ask your manager to add them to the roster.
  • Payments tab: Collect and Track, if your manager uses it for cash calls.
  • Tracking tab: Track items and task assignments.
  • Photos: unlimited team photos.

Getting on Your Team

  1. Watch for the invite email. Once your manager adds you to the roster, TeamLinkt emails you an invitation.
  2. Use the same email address. Create your account or log in with the email you were rostered with. A different email won't find your team.
  3. Get the app. Download TeamLinkt from the App Store or Google Play, or use app.teamlinkt.com on a computer. Your team appears once you're logged in.

You can set up your account before the invite arrives. If your team shows as Pending, check with your manager

Everyday Use

Mark your availability for every game and practice. Coaches set lines about 48 hours before each game, and an unsure counts as a no. In the app, open the Team tab, swipe left on an event and pick your answer.

Put the schedule in your phone calendar. Events tab, Subscribe to Calendar, then choose Apple, Google or other. Changes flow to your phone automatically.

Pick your notifications. Choose what you get by push, email or chat, for each team.

Family, Fans and Team Chat

Second parent or guardian. Invite them to your TeamLinkt Family. That links your accounts but doesn't put them on the team, so ask your manager to add them to the roster too.

Grandparents and fans. In the Team app, go to Roster, tap your child's name, then Add Contact, and set Permissions to Fan. Fans see games only, not practices, and can't see team chats.

Team chat rules. Every team gets an All Team Members chat with players, parents and coaches.

  • Rule of Two. No adult messages a player one on one. Coaches and managers message players in group chats only, with a second adult in the chat.
  • 24 hour rule. Concerns about ice time or coaching wait 24 hours, then go to your manager privately, never in the team chat.
  • Keep it positive. No comments about officials, opponents or other players.

For Managers and Team Admins

  1. Build the roster. Add every player and both parents with the email they'll use. Set coaches and managers as Team Staff or Team Admin.
  2. Load the schedule. Enter games, practices and team events. Set games as type Game so fans can see them.
  3. Add gamesheet codes. Put each home game's RAMP game, team and ref codes in the event notes for your scorekeepers.
  4. Set up chats safely. Two adults in every chat that includes players. Never a one on one chat between an adult and a player.
  5. Set an availability deadline. 48 hours before games works for most coaches.
