Gary Greenough, our Referee-in-Chief, is stepping away from the role after more than 25 years of tireless volunteering both on and off the ice. Gary has played a key role in supporting and developing our officiating program, and his commitment to the game and our players has been greatly appreciated. On behfalf of the SWZ Board we want to thank Gary for his commitment to hockey in the SWZ.
We are pleased to share that Derek Crowley will be stepping into the RIC role moving forward.
Clinics & Officials Information
NEW OFFICIALS: THE SWZ NEW OFFICIALS CLINIC FOR NEW, FIRST YEAR OFFICIALS IS NOW FULL.
If you wish to become a new official this season, you may try to attend a clinic in another community. However, please note that game assignments would also need to come from that community.
If you do choose to take a clinic in another community, please ensure that community will be able to assign you games before proceeding. More information on attending a clinic outside your home community is available here:
RETURNING OFFICIALS:
A registration information package for returning SWZ officials has been sent out by email. If you are a returning SWZ official but didn’t receive it, please contact Derek Crowley (RIC) to have it sent to you.
[Text Wrapping Break]Prior to registering for a clinic, returning officials must complete the mandatory online re-certification module. Both the online re-certification module, and attendance at a clinic, are required every season for all returning officials.

For returning officials moving into SWZ from other areas, please contact Derek Crowley (RIC) to be sent the registration package.
Returning officials who live outside of SWZ but wish to attend a SWZ clinic, may be accepted if space permits.
