Gary Greenough, our Referee-in-Chief,  is stepping away from the role after more than 25 years of tireless volunteering both on and off the ice. Gary has played a key role in supporting and developing our officiating program, and his commitment to the game and our players has been greatly appreciated. On behfalf of the SWZ Board we want to thank Gary for his commitment to hockey in the SWZ.

We are pleased to share that Derek Crowley will be stepping into the RIC role moving forward.

2026-27 Clinic Dates:
SWZ in-person officials clinics for the 2026-2027 season, for both new and returning officials, are expected to take place in the first half of September, with registration opening on approximately August 1, 2026.
Additional information will be provided here once details are confirmed. Limited space is available.

New Officials:
Are you interested in becoming a referee for the 2026-27 season? Please contact Derek Crowley (RIC), for more information on how to get started.

Minimum age is 13 (as of December 31, 2026).

Returning Officials:
For returning SWZ officials, please contact Derek Crowley (RIC) after August 1, 2026 to request a SWZ clinic registration link.
Prior to registering for a clinic, the mandatory online re-certification module must be completed. Both the online re-certification module, and attendance at a clinic, are required every season for all officials.

For returning officials moving into SWZ from other areas, please contact Derek Crowley (RIC) to have your name added to the SWZ Officiating roster.
Returning officials who live outside of SWZ but wish to attend a SWZ clinic, may be accepted if space permits.
