Clinics

The upcoming SWZ clinic will be on September 11th at Louis St. Laurent High School from 8:00am to 5:00pm and the ice session for those that have to take it will be at Confederation arena.

THERE ARE NO LINKS to the clinic or the learning modules for first year officials at this time, we are waiting on HCR  (Hockey Canada) to get up to speed so that when the links are sent out you can register.  Once I receive the links you will all be notified again to apply so that I can send the links to you. Unfortunately, ALL Level twos are required to take a clinic this year, no if ands or buts. The only online clinics will be level 3’s and up. Some of you may be aware that HC has changed the levels of officiating this year to level 1,2,3 and the 2 High-Performance levels, all of these can be found on HC Website and contains information for each level and how to move to the next level, including the level 1 to level 2 which is, you are 16 years old by December 31st of the this year. All of the moves from level 2 to level 3 and level 3 to the HP programs must be done by application. This years applications are closed already last year. you can apply for next year after Christmas.

I will have two full classrooms for the experienced level twos, one classroom for level 2’s that are starting out or only have one or two years’ experience and 3rd year level one’s  and the fourth classroom will be for new officials

This year most RICS in Edmonton will be taking resumes for 1st year officials , a brief outline of their hockey experience etc. as we want to limit the number of drop outs after one year, limit the amount of officials so the officials that want to officiate get enough games per week.

Best Regards
